Agro-ecology forms core of the food chain of all communities. Small and Marginal farmer communities in Malkangiri and Kandhamal districts of Odisha State have reposed their faith on the local traditional agriculture systems and traditional seeds. These farmers have exchanged local seeds to increase seed and food diversity of their farms. The farmers exchange ideas to increase the productions as well as identify traditional crops that gives them income from small piece of land. This sustainable farming initiatives through ecological farming methods and free exchange of seeds and knowledge have prompted the local farmer organizations to Celebrate the Bounty of local Farm Diversity through Annual Community Seed Fairs.
